What is a Reference DRS?

Every Reference DRS in TailorCV's catalog spans a full career ladder — L1 through L10 — with a defined mission, a set of owned outcomes, and a competency bar for each level. The framework is deliberately explicit: a level is not a job title, and a title is not a level. What you own and the competencies you're demonstrating are the truth; the title is vanity.

Every DRS variant carries a crosswalk to five official occupation classification systems: O*NET-SOC (the US Bureau of Labor Statistics' standard), ISCO-08 (the UN/ILO's international standard), ESCO (the European Commission's multilingual classification), SSOC 2024 (Singapore's Ministry of Manpower standard), and NCO-2015 (India's National Classification of Occupations).

DRS is IC-first: the professional occupation code applies at every level, L1 through L10. From L6 up, a manager classification applies additively alongside it — a manager is a superset of the individual contributor, never a replacement, which roughly mirrors how ISCO's own skill-level bands separate practitioner groups from managerial ones.

About a dozen modern roles — Customer Success, RevOps, SDR/BDR, community management, service design, UX research, investor relations, and similar — postdate the official taxonomies and have no exact code. DRS maps these to the nearest honest ancestor occupation and marks the page with an explicit caveat, rather than forcing a fit that isn't there.
