About This Job Family
People in this job family own the 'what' and 'why' of products—defining vision, prioritizing roadmaps, and translating customer needs into features that drive business outcomes. Product management is an inherently inbound function: PMs synthesize customer discovery, user research, market signals, and usage data to determine what to build. They work at the intersection of engineering, design, and go-to-market, balancing competing demands while keeping teams aligned on what matters most.
What You'll Do
Enterprise Product Managers own complex, high-stakes products sold to large organizations with long sales cycles and multi-stakeholder buying committees. The inbound motion is critical: gathering requirements from strategic accounts, running customer advisory boards, and synthesizing field feedback into product strategy. They balance deep technical understanding with commercial acumen—coordinating with Sales, Customer Success, and Engineering on deals that shape the roadmap. Success means shipping features that close seven-figure deals without accruing unsustainable technical debt.
- • Own feature delivery for specific enterprise customer requests
- • Coordinate with Solutions Engineering on technical requirements
- • Draft integration specifications for customer implementations
- • Analyze customer feedback patterns across strategic accounts
- • Support pricing discussions with competitive research
- • Manage feature requests through the development lifecycle
Every responsibility is an accomplishment waiting to happen. The question is: will you own the outcome, or just do the task?

The Competencies That Matter
Skills fill your toolbox. Competencies are how you wield them. Three matter most at this level:
1. PRODUCT MANAGEMENT (3) Strong Product Management skills required at this level.
2. SOFTWARE ENGINEERING (2) You're building the fundamentals—writing clean code, understanding the codebase, and shipping features that work.
3. ANALYTICS & BI (1) Strong Analytics & BI skills required at this level.
The radar shows the full picture. These three are where you need to be undeniable.
Your Journey From Here
Going up? Your next Tour of Duty:
→ Senior Product Manager, Enterprise - B2B Enterprise (L3) "Lead product work on a strategic account win worth $250K+ ARR"
The L2 → L3 gap is about OWNERSHIP: • From executing tasks → owning outcomes • From writing code → designing systems • From asking questions → answering them
These are your stretch accomplishments. Start doing L3 work now. When you can prove it with accomplishments, you're ready.
Going sideways? That's valid too.
Up isn't the only direction. It's your career. You own it.
