About This Job Family
Solutions Engineering professionals bridge the gap between technical capability and customer need. They demonstrate product value, design solutions, and ensure technical fit during the sales process. They speak both business and technology fluently, translating requirements into architectures.
What You'll Do
Forward Deployed Engineers are embedded at customer sites to deploy, integrate, and harden products in production environments. Unlike traditional SE roles, they write production code on customer infrastructure and feed learnings back to the core product team. The role originated in enterprise infrastructure (telecom, defense) and has been adopted widely by AI and enterprise software companies. Popularized by Palantir, it is now a core function at Salesforce, Stripe, OpenAI, and hundreds of growth-stage startups. Success means production systems that deliver value and a product that improves from every deployment.

- • Remove blockers—fight for product access, demo environments, and sales alignment
