About This Job Family

People in this job family build relationships that create new business opportunities—partnerships, integrations, channels, and strategic alliances. They find the deals that wouldn't happen through normal sales motions and structure the agreements that make them work.

What You'll Do

New Market Development professionals identify and pursue expansion into new markets—geographic, vertical, or segment. They validate opportunities, develop entry strategies, and build the relationships needed to succeed in unfamiliar territory. Success means successful market entries that become meaningful revenue contributors.

  • Drive strategic market entries and mentor others
  • Build executive relationships in new markets
  • Develop market entry frameworks and playbooks
  • Lead complex market expansion initiatives
  • Influence product localization for new markets
  • Train others on market development techniques

Manage a Team?

  • Hire for relationship building AND deal structuring—both are essential

  • Run 1:1s that develop negotiation skills and partner empathy
  • Give feedback on deal quality, not just deal volume
  • Remove blockers—fight for legal bandwidth, exec alignment, and internal resources
