Own documentation outcomes at business unit level and drive content operations at scale
Tour of Duty
Create the operating model that drives documentation excellence and knowledge management at scale
About This Job Family
People in this job family shape how products look, feel, and work—turning user needs into intuitive experiences. They conduct research, create wireframes and prototypes, and define design systems that scale. Great design makes complex things simple and turns first-time users into loyal advocates.
What You'll Do
Technical Writers create the documentation that developers and users rely on to understand, integrate, and troubleshoot products. They translate complex technical concepts into clear, structured content—API references, developer guides, knowledge bases, and product documentation. Their work sits at the intersection of engineering and communication, requiring deep product understanding and the ability to write for technical audiences.
- • Own technical publications outcomes at business unit level including developer satisfaction
- • Drive organizational transformation for documentation and knowledge management excellence
- • Build systems for documentation quality, consistency, and scalability across products
- • Shape company strategy through developer experience and documentation lens

Every responsibility is an accomplishment waiting to happen. The question is: will you own the outcome, or just do the task?

- → Modeling knowledge management ROI across business units
- → Analyzing documentation efficiency patterns and resource allocation

Your Journey From Here
Going up? Your next Tour of Duty:
→ SVP, Technical Publications - Technical Publications (L9) "Define the content strategy that makes documentation a core part of the company's developer experience"
The L8 → L9 gap is about ORGANIZATIONAL IMPACT: • From functional leadership → company leadership • From technical strategy → business strategy • From building teams → building organizations
These are your stretch accomplishments. Start doing L9 work now. When you can prove it with accomplishments, you're ready.
Going sideways? That's valid too.
Up isn't the only direction. It's your career. You own it.
