About This Job Family
People in this job family own the customer relationship after the deal closes. They drive adoption, identify expansion opportunities, and ensure customers get value. Success means renewals, upsells, and customers who advocate for your product.
What You'll Do
Enterprise Account Managers own relationships with the largest customers—managing renewals, driving expansion, and ensuring executive alignment. They navigate complex organizations with multiple stakeholders and large contract values. Success means high retention, significant expansion, and customers who serve as references and advocates.
- • Serve as the company's foremost expert in enterprise account methodology
- • Define the strategic framework for enterprise customer success and growth
- • Establish thought leadership in enterprise relationship management
- • Architect innovative approaches for enterprise account expansion
- • Drive cross-functional alignment on enterprise account initiatives
- • Shape enterprise AM culture through expertise and best practices
Every responsibility is an accomplishment waiting to happen. The question is: will you own the outcome, or just do the task?
Manage a Team?
Great managers are practitioners first. The IC responsibilities above are your foundation—the craft you model for your team. Your management responsibilities are additive:
- • Hire AMs who build relationships, not just manage renewals
- • Coach expansion mindset—every account is a growth opportunity
- • Run 1:1s focused on account strategy—not just activity metrics
- • Give feedback that sharpens relationship instincts and commercial acumen
- • Remove blockers—fight for product fixes, exec sponsors, and cross-team support
Your team's accomplishments are your accomplishments. Help them craft S.M.A.R.T wins—specific, measurable, and ready to stand on their own.
AI as an Accelerator
AI isn't a skill we call out. It's invisible in the accomplishment but easily visible in the velocity and scale of your outcomes. Here's how people in this role are accelerating their work with AI:
- → Account analysis
- → Building scale strategies
- → Creating efficiency frameworks
